Special features: This Mortlach 2008/2025 was bottled after 17 years in a first-fill bourbon barrel and combines the powerful character of the "Beasts of Dufftown" with the bright fruitiness and soft sweetness of American oak. The bottling is limited to 207 bottles and was personally selected by Andrew Symington. The whisky was bottled with an alcohol content of 53.8% vol.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Intense aromas of dried fruits, including dates and figs, accompanied by a light vanilla note and a hint of oak wood.
- Palate: Full-bodied and complex with notes of dark chocolate, nutmeg, and a subtle spice reminiscent of pepper.
- Finish: Long-lasting with a pleasant warmth and an aftertaste of roasted nuts and a light smoky note.
Distillery/Bottler: Mortlach, founded in 1823, is one of the oldest distilleries in Dufftown, Scotland. Known for its complex 2.81-fold distillation method, it produces whiskies with a unique character. The bottling was done by Signatory Vintage, a renowned independent bottler, under the "Symington's Choice" series.
