North Port Brechin 1976/2017 Sig RR

Special features: This 40-year-old single malt from Speyside comes from the legendary North Port Distillery, which is no longer in operation. The whisky was bottled at cask strength with 50.4% vol. by Signatory Vintage as part of the exclusive Rare Reserve series. The edition, consisting of only 194 bottles, matured in a single hogshead cask (No. 3887) and is presented in an elegant wooden box.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Rich with notes of dried fruits, vanilla, and a subtle spice reminiscent of sandalwood.
  • Palate: Full-bodied and complex, characterized by sweet caramel nuances, ripe plums, and a hint of oak.
  • Finish: Long and warming with a subtle, lingering finish of spices and malt.

Distillery/Bottler: North Port was a Scottish distillery in the Speyside region that contributes to the history of Scottish whisky production, although it is no longer operational today. The bottlings from Signatory Vintage, a renowned independent bottler, are known for their careful selection and traditional methods that preserve the character of rare and often unavailable distillates.
