Special features: This 30-year-old Tomintoul Single Malt was distilled and bottled in First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt #6. The bottling was done at cask strength with an alcohol content of 50.7%, without chill filtration and without coloring. With only 565 bottles, this edition is particularly limited and offers enthusiasts a rare insight into the craftsmanship of the Tomintoul Distillery.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromas of dried figs, toffee, fruitcake, old leather, and a sweet sherry note.
- Palate: Taste of dark honey, cinnamon, and roasted hazelnuts.
- Finish: A long, warming, and elegantly dry finish with lingering sherry notes, vanilla, and gentle oak tannins.
Distillery/Bottler: The Tomintoul Distillery, founded in 1964, is located in the heart of Speyside and is known for its smooth and malty single malts. Under the guidance of Master Distiller Robert Fleming, who has been directing the distillery since 1990, whiskies with a soft, malty-floral character are produced. The bottling is done by Signatory Vintage, a renowned independent bottler known for its careful selection and presentation of single cask bottlings.
