Special Features:

With Triparva, Amrut introduced its first triple-distilled single malt. The fermented wort is distilled three times rather than the usual two, while the rest of the whisky-making process remains unchanged. This edition therefore centres on a change to the distillation process.

Limited to 5,400 bottles worldwide, this release combines creamy fruit notes with vanilla and honey. It contains no added colouring and is not chill-filtered. The whisky is bottled at 50% in a bottle containing 0.7 litres and comes in black-and-gold gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines salted caramel with coconut and vanilla cream. Peach and melon are initially subtle before plantain and sweet orange become more prominent. A delicate oak note accompanies the fruit.
• Palate: On the palate, creamy peach and melon recall fruit in syrup. Plantain, orange-like citrus notes and vanilla cream follow. Honey and sweet soda complement the flavours, while the texture is rich and dense.
• Finish: Honey and plantain linger on the finish, joined by a gentle spice note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Amrut is based in Bengaluru, formerly Bangalore. Shri J.N. Radhakrishna founded the company in 1948 under the name Amrut Laboratories. After producing rum and brandy, it began malt distillation in 1980. In 2004, Amrut presented its single malt in Glasgow, bringing Indian malt whisky onto the Scottish stage.

The distillery stands around 920 metres above sea level. Despite this elevation, a tropical climate shapes maturation in cask: high evaporation losses accompany the whisky's rapid development. Amrut's experimental approach extends beyond Triparva's triple distillation to Spectrum, with its different cask staves, and Naarangi, with its orange influence.
