Maturation entirely in an ex-sherry Butt defines this single-cask release from Rest & Be Thankful. The Benrinnes was distilled on 19 January 2009 and matured for fourteen years in cask number 300774 before the whisky was bottled on 6 February 2023. The release comprises 577 bottles.

The single malt is bottled at its cask strength of 54.1%, without chill filtration or added colouring. Its fruit-led sherry-cask character is complemented by a creamy mouthfeel and accents of chocolate, nuts and herbs. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, red woodland berries and ripe cherries mingle with roasted almonds and hazelnuts. A subtle, spicy tobacco note complements the fruit and nut aromas.
• Palate: The whisky feels rich and creamy on the palate, with a rounded, intense flavour. Dark chocolate, juicy plums and dates meet soft toffee. Wild herbs, vanilla, oak spice and a variety of nutty notes complete the profile.
• Finish: The long, balanced finish carries the sweetness of candied oranges and raisins. A subtle oak note accompanies the lingering flavours.

Distillery/Bottler:

Benrinnes lies in Speyside at the foot of Ben Rinnes, the mountain that gives the distillery its name and supplies its mineral-rich water. Its production methods include traditional worm tubs: coils of pipe immersed in cold water cool the distillation vapours until they become liquid again. This condensation method contributes to the robust, distinctive character of the distillery's spirit.

Fox Fitzgerald is the company behind independent bottler Rest & Be Thankful. It began in the whisky trade and later helped Bruichladdich expand its international business. On journeys from Glasgow to the Islay ferry, the team encountered the Rest and Be Thankful viewpoint on the A83. Its name comes from an inscription left by soldiers who completed the construction of a military road there in 1753. This inspired the name of today's whisky and rum range, whose single-cask and small-batch releases are bottled without colouring or chill filtration.
