Special Features:

The smoky Bud Spencer edition combines peated barley malt from the Scottish Highlands with maturation in former Amarone and bourbon casks. Produced at St. Kilian in Germany, it pays tribute to the actor. The miniature contains 0.05 litres at 49% alcohol.

The whisky has a light copper hue and is neither chill-filtered nor coloured. Its pronounced smoky character sits alongside sweet, fruity impressions and a spicy, smoky finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Strong, ashy smoke and spicy notes initially lead on the nose. Sweet, fruity impressions of red grapes and banana then emerge, accompanied by vanilla and toffee.
• Palate: The whisky opens with distinct sweetness on the palate, dominant smoke and a light caramel note. Pleasant peppery spice and dry notes follow.
• Finish: The finish is full-bodied and long-lasting. Smoke and spicy notes define the aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

St. Kilian Distillers is based in Rüdenau in the Lower Franconian Odenwald, near Miltenberg am Main. In 2012, Andreas Thümmler developed the distillery project together with Irish whisky expert David F. Hynes. Distillation began in 2016 after four years of construction; the first three-year-old single malt, First Kilian, followed in May 2019.

The equipment includes wooden fermentation vessels and two copper Forsyth stills, each with a capacity of 6000 litres. The spirit for the smoky Bud Spencer edition is distilled twice in copper stills. Combining Scottish barley malt with casks previously used for American and Italian drinks is part of this bottling's concept.
