Special Features:

Stobcross brings together maturation in bourbon and sherry casks and the fruit-forward style of the Clydeside Distillery. The distillery uses only Scottish barley for this Lowland Single Malt. Floral and tropical impressions sit alongside orchard fruit, vanilla and a delicate pepper note.

The distillery’s first whisky release, Stobcross takes its name from the history of the site. Stobcross House was demolished in 1875 to make way for Queen’s Dock. The whisky is bottled at 46%, retains its natural colour and is not chill-filtered. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in cylindrical packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, floral notes mingle with fresh sweetness and hints of tropical fruit.
• Palate: Orchard fruit leads on the palate, complemented by a hint of white pepper.
• Finish: Fresh fruit notes linger on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Clydeside Distillery stands on the River Clyde in Glasgow, occupying the former pump house of Queen’s Dock, built in 1877. The dock was once an important hub for the city’s international trade, with Scotch whisky among the goods shipped from here. The distillery has given the restored building a new role in this whisky heritage.

The distillery was founded by Tim Morrison and his son Andrew. Their family has worked in whisky trading, blending and distilling for more than a century, with connections to Bowmore, Glen Garioch and Auchentoshan, among others. Morrison Glasgow Distillers Limited is the company behind The Clydeside Distillery. Stobcross expresses the distillery’s fruity, gently sweet style, while other releases deliberately highlight sherry or peat influences.
