Special Features:

Two Bourbon Barrels shape this mature release from Signatory Vintage's Cask Strength Collection. The Clynelish was distilled on 4 May 1990 and matured for 32 years in casks 3478 and 3482. The whisky was bottled at cask strength, 45.9%, on 19 July 2022. The release comprises 219 numbered bottles.

Wax, citrus fruit and mineral impressions shape its character. On the palate, bready notes complement the oily texture; minerality and herbs linger in the very long finish. The whisky is bottled without colouring or chill filtration in a 0.7-litre bottle, presented in a black metal tin.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines waxy notes with orange and kumquat. Mineral impressions and a savoury nuance complement the aromas.
• Palate: The palate has an oily texture, with waxy and bready notes shaping the taste.
• Finish: The finish is very long for the alcohol strength, with lingering mineral impressions and herbal notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Clynelish is located in the northern Highlands and belongs to Diageo. Its history began in 1819 with a distillery that provided local tenant farmers with a market for their barley. The modern Clynelish distillery was later built opposite the original site, which became known as Brora. Water from the Clynemilton Burn and a distinctively waxy style are part of Clynelish's heritage, and its whisky also plays an important role in Johnnie Walker.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. As an independent bottler, the company offers whiskies from selected casks from various Scottish distilleries. Its name comes from the original idea of having well-known personalities sign the bottles. The purchase of Edradour in 2002 marked the start of the move to Pitlochry, which was completed in 2007. Storage facilities there were later expanded to accommodate more than 20,000 casks.
