Glen Moray Sherry Cask Finish develops its character through two stages of maturation. The whisky first matures in American oak before being finished in Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez in Spain. This finish adds dried fruit, nutty notes and spice to the distillery’s traditional Speyside style.
Vanilla and oak mingle with dark chocolate and Eastern spices, while toffee and toasted cinnamon also appear on the nose. The long finish carries the warm spice and bittersweet chocolate through. This official bottling has an alcohol content of 40%.

Glen Moray was established in Elgin on the site of the former Elgin West Brewery, which had brewed beer since 1830. Spirit first flowed from the new whisky distillery’s stills on 13 September 1897. Even this first production, made from local barley, was filled into various cask types, including Marsala and sherry casks. Wine casks have therefore been part of the distillery’s history from the outset.
In 1999, Glen Moray released whiskies with Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc finishes, building on this early diversity of casks. The Classic Collection, introduced in 2014, continued the concept with further finishes, including sherry, port and Chardonnay casks. Sherry Cask Finish brings together whisky production at Glen Moray and this longstanding experience in finishing.
