Special Features:

A single White Port Barrel shapes this long-aged Glencadam. The whisky was distilled on 5 November 1982 and bottled from cask number 2350 on 28 May 2021 after 38 years. The limited edition comprises 220 individually numbered bottles.

The Single Malt was bottled at its cask strength of 45.7%. It comes in a 0.7-litre bottle without chill filtration or added colouring. The presentation includes a rounded glass bottle with a broad glass stopper and a dark red, leather-effect gift box with a light-coloured satin lining.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is lively and layered, combining honey pomelo, apple peel and lychee with the sweetness of boiled sweets. Elderflower and chamomile bring a fresh, floral character.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet black cherries and raspberry yoghurt meet chocolate-covered Brazil nuts. Mocha, spices and cocoa nibs add further notes.
• Finish: On the finish, sour cherry jam and apple strudel gradually give way to warming, sweet spice notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glencadam is located in Brechin in the eastern Highlands. David Scott built the distillery in 1825 on land leased from his father-in-law, George Cooper. Following its closure in 2000, Angus Dundee Distillers acquired the distillery in 2003 and resumed production. This vintage therefore dates from before the change of ownership.

Today's production uses a historic Porteus mill and a traditional mash tun that processes five tonnes of milled malt per batch. The wort ferments with distiller's yeast in Oregon Pine washbacks. For maturation, Glencadam uses historic warehouses dating from its founding year, among others, and a wide selection of casks previously filled with bourbon, sherry, port and other wines.
