Special Features:

This Glencraig dates from the period when Glenburgie used Lomond stills to produce a distinct style of single malt. Signatory Vintage selected Bourbon Barrel number 4283 for its 30th anniversary. Distilled on 11 June 1976, the whisky matured in it for 42 years before being bottled in Pitlochry on 18 July 2018 under the supervision of Andrew W. Symington.

The cask yielded 176 bottles worldwide at a natural cask strength of 42%. The whisky was neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The anniversary presentation includes a black lacquered wooden box and two Glencairn glasses decorated with Signatory Vintage branding. The bottle contains 0.7 litres.

Despite its long maturation, this deep-gold whisky retains a fresh character. Fresh and dried fruit sit alongside floral scents and aromatic plants. On the palate, syrupy sweetness develops into herbal impressions, later taking on rustic and maritime notes.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is full and mature, with pineapple, apple and honey. Over time, floral notes emerge, recalling lilies.
• Palate: The palate opens with a dense, syrupy texture accompanied by spice and vanilla. Herbal notes then become more pronounced. Towards the end of the palate, a slightly medicinal camphor note appears.
• Finish: The finish leaves green, herbal impressions reminiscent of lush meadows.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glencraig was a single malt produced at Glenburgie in Speyside. Between 1958 and 1981, the distillery used two Lomond stills to make it. Much of the production was destined for Ballantine's blends, making long-matured single casks of this style rare today.

Signatory Vintage was founded in Edinburgh in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. Its name came from the original idea of having bottles signed by famous personalities. As an independent bottler, Signatory Vintage focuses on the individual character of selected casks. After acquiring Edradour in 2002, the company gradually relocated its operations to the distillery site in Pitlochry, completing the move by 2007.
