Maturation in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks shapes GlenDronach Forgue. This ten-year-old Highland Single Malt combines dark fruit with ripe barley and resinous oak notes. Its name refers to the valley of Forgue, where the distillery stands.

Released in 2018, Forgue was GlenDronach's first expression developed exclusively for international travel retail. The whisky is bottled at 43% in a 1-litre bottle and comes in a presentation tube. It is non-chill filtered and has no added colouring; its golden to copper colour comes from cask maturation.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, Seville blood orange and cherry meet ripe barley. Roasted chestnuts and cocoa are joined by winter spice notes.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet Valencia orange and sour cherries combine with ripe barley. Dark currants, toffee with praline notes and earthy blackberries emerge as the palate develops.
• Finish: The long, full-bodied finish combines tobacco and orange with ground nutmeg.

Distillery/Bottler:

James Allardice founded GlenDronach in 1826 in the valley of Forgue in the Scottish Highlands. Maturation in Spanish sherry casks is a defining part of the distillery's approach. Its traditional production equipment includes a cast-iron mash tun, wooden washbacks and copper pot stills. GlenDronach thus combines spirit production with a longstanding specialisation in sherry cask maturation.
