Sherry cask maturation shapes this twelve-year-old Glenfarclas. Its fruity sweetness sits alongside oak and spice, while the nose is fresh and light. Glenfarclas uses Oloroso sherry casks for maturation, so the sherry influence develops during ageing rather than through a short finish.

This miniature contains 0.05 litres of the twelve-year-old Single Malt at 43% alcohol. The whisky is not chill-filtered, has no added colouring and displays a golden amber hue. The bottle is supplied without gift packaging.

• Nose: The nose is fresh and light. Sherry-influenced fruit combines with spicy sweetness and a delicate oak note with a juicy quality.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied on the palate. Fruity sherry notes, oak and sweetness define the flavour.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenfarclas lies at the foot of Ben Rinnes in Scotland’s Speyside region. Founded in 1836, the distillery has belonged to the Grant family since John Grant purchased it in 1865 and remains independently run. When demand from blending companies declined towards the end of the 1960s, George S. Grant decided to lay down more whisky for the distillery’s own bottlings. This long-term approach to building stocks provides an important foundation for the broad range of mature Glenfarclas whiskies.

The water used in production comes from the slopes of Ben Rinnes. Glenfarclas distils twice in direct-fired stills, maintaining a traditional method. Cask sourcing also remains closely connected to the family: John Grant travels to a family-run bodega in Spain to select European oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry.
