Maturation entirely in Oloroso sherry casks shapes this fifteen-year-old Glenfarclas. Part of the distillery's Classic Range, it combines a full body with a balanced interplay of sherry sweetness and malt. The single malt is bottled at 46% in a bottle containing 0.7 litres and comes in a presentation tube.

Glenfarclas bottles this expression without chill filtration or added colouring. The whisky has a rich golden amber hue. Alongside its sherry character, it offers malty sweetness, dried fruit and oak spice, complemented by delicate peaty and smoky notes.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Sherry leads on the nose, accompanied by light butterscotch notes and a hint of dried fruit. Buttery impressions and notes reminiscent of linseed oil appear alongside peat. Lavender and pear remain subtle nuances.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied on the palate. Sherry sweetness and malty notes balance each other. Toasted oak accompanies juicy raisins and lightly burnt raisin notes. Cinnamon and nutmeg add spicy accents.
• Finish: The long finish remains sweet and distinctly sherried. The finish also recalls the lightly burnt crust of a sherry fruitcake, accompanied by a little smoke.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenfarclas lies in Speyside at the foot of Ben Rinnes. Its spring water comes from the mountain's slopes, where it emerges from the granite bedrock. The distillery uses double distillation in directly fired stills. For its cask selection, it works with a family-run bodega in Spain, where John Grant selects European oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry.

The Grant family's connection began in 1865, when cattle farmer John Grant bought the distillery together with Rechlerich Farm. The family business developed into J. & G. Grant, and Glenfarclas remains family-owned and family-run today. When an important order for blending whisky was lost in the late 1960s, George S. Grant had more whisky laid down for the company's own bottlings. That decision helped establish its extensive stocks of long-matured whisky.
