Special Features:

This 35-year-old official distillery bottling combines long maturation in Speyside with a pronounced sherry-cask influence. The whisky matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks. Toasted almonds, dark dried fruit and creamy toffee gradually give way to cinnamon and cocoa. A delicate oak note adds to its character. The elaborate Red-Door packaging features a design inspired by the red door of a Glenfarclas warehouse.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, toasted almonds and dark dried fruit combine with creamy toffee and mature sherry notes.
• Palate: On the palate, sherry-influenced fruit and raisins meet dark chocolate. Creamy toffee, toasted almonds, gentle cinnamon spice and cocoa add to these impressions.
• Finish: The finish is long and elegant. Cinnamon and cocoa lend warmth, while sherry-influenced fruit, toasted almonds and a gentle oak note linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

J. & G. Grant owns and operates Glenfarclas Distillery in Speyside. The distillery has remained family-owned since John Grant acquired it in 1865. This 35-year-old single malt is also an official Glenfarclas bottling.

At the foot of Ben Rinnes, the fifth and sixth generations of the Grant family have continued to run the distillery independently. A crucial factor behind its long-aged bottlings is the family’s decision to keep distilling and laying down whisky even during difficult economic periods, rather than selling all its stocks at a young age.

The distillery uses directly fired copper stills. To develop its house style during maturation, it uses selected European oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry.
