Special Features:

For Glenfiddich Triple Oak Twelve, new French oak complements maturation in American oak casks and European sherry casks. After twelve years, the whiskies matured in those casks are married with Single Malt from French oak casks. The result brings together whiskies matured differently, rather than undergoing three successive cask changes.

Malt Master Brian Kinsman developed this bottling for the French market. The new French oak casks add spicy and vanilla accents to Glenfiddich's fruity style. Toasted almonds and lingering ginger notes also contribute to its character. The French-labelled bottle is supplied in an orange presentation tube.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: On the nose, fresh pear and citrus notes combine with pronounced sweet, creamy vanilla.
  • Palate: The whisky feels soft and creamy on the palate. Fruity freshness and delicate spice notes meet distinct oak, toasted almonds and the sweetness of crème brûlée.
  • Finish: The long, very smooth finish remains fruity while also showing a distinct spiciness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenfiddich is located in Dufftown in Scotland's Speyside region. William Grant began building the distillery in 1886; spirit first flowed from its stills on Christmas Day 1887. The Gaelic name means Valley of the Deer and explains the stag symbol on the bottle and packaging. The family business has maintained its independence over several generations.

In-house coppersmiths maintain the stills, while the distillery's own cooperage supports its work with casks. These facilities were established in the 1950s. Glenfiddich also played an important role in bringing Single Malt to an international audience: from 1963, the family actively marketed its malt outside Scotland, at a time when blended whisky still dominated the market.
