In Glengoyne's twelve-year-old whisky, bourbon casks complement the sherry and refill maturation. The cask composition comprises 20% first-fill European oak sherry casks, 20% first-fill American oak bourbon casks and 60% hand-selected refill oak casks. Refill refers to casks previously used to mature whisky. The Single Malt is bottled at 43%.

The whisky combines a rich character with citrus freshness and delicate spice. Its colour develops without added colouring. This non-smoky Single Malt is an official bottling and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, coconut oil and honey mingle with lemon zest and dry oak.
• Palate: The whisky is rich on the palate, with toffee apple, fudge, orange, ginger and shortbread. Warming cinnamon notes complement these flavours.
• Finish: The long, oily finish leaves a delicate shortbread note lingering. A hint of sherry, gentle oak and cinnamon spice create a balanced aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glengoyne Distillery has been producing whisky since 1833. Today, its approach centres on air-dried, unpeated barley and particularly slow distillation. Cask preparation is also given plenty of time: the sherry casks prepared for Glengoyne undergo a six-year preparation process before whisky matures in them. This lengthy preparation of the oak casks is as much a part of the house style as the gentle distillation.
