Distillery/Bottler:
The Glenlivet Distillery produces the single malt released as an official bottling under The Glenlivet brand. In 1824, George Smith obtained the first legal distilling licence in the Parish of Glenlivet. The distillery's fruity style provides the foundation for the balanced Triple Cask composition.
After operating two distilleries, George Smith brought production together at Minmore, where The Glenlivet remains today. Together with his son John Gordon, he established George and J.G. Smith Co. there. The distillery later closed its own floor maltings and has since sourced malted barley from commercial maltsters.
