Special Features:

A single Refill Sherry Butt shapes this long-matured Glenlossie. Distilled on 4 October 1984, the Single Malt spent 33 years in cask number 2533 before Signatory Vintage bottled it on 27 July 2018 for its anniversary edition. The name 30th Anniversary marks the independent bottler's 30 years in business.

The cask yielded 530 bottles of 0.7 litres each. The whisky was bottled at its natural cask strength of 56.7%, without chill filtration or added colouring. It comes in a black lacquered wooden box with two Glencairn glasses bearing Signatory Vintage decoration.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Roasted coffee, black grapes and chocolate define the nose. Bold spice and peppermint accompany cooked red fruits. With some air, cherry tart, redcurrants, sugar and lemon tea emerge. Chilli adds a tingling heat, while a little vanilla lends a delicate creaminess. As the heat subsides, strawberries and other summer berries become more distinct.
• Palate: On the palate, barley malt gives way to the impression of a strawberry cream cake, with a silky aftertaste. Pronounced sweetness meets bold spice. Strawberry slush, brown Demerara sugar, walnuts and cherry tart complement concentrated notes of fruit compote and jam pastries over a floral base. Oak, polished wood and a hint of ash add further layers. Vanilla and malty cocoa notes give the flavour a creamy roundedness.
• Finish: Cooked red fruits linger as milk chocolate joins them. The finish is sweet and creamy.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenlossie was founded in Speyside in 1876 by John Duff and other partners. Much of its production goes into blended whiskies. Among the distillery's distinctive features are purifier pipes on its stills: these return heavier compounds that have condensed in the lyne arm for redistillation. This design contributes to the spirit's oily texture.

Signatory Vintage is the independent bottler behind this edition. Its single-cask releases highlight the differences between individual casks. The 2018 anniversary series combines this approach with long-matured whiskies from various Scottish distilleries.
