Special Features:

The Infinita combines long maturation with two distinct cask paths. After 15 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, a portion of the whisky spent another three years in Oloroso sherry casks before the two portions were reunited. Glenmorangie's citrus and floral character remains recognisable, while figs, nuts and orange marmalade add depth. Honey and caramelised orange meet jasmine and lemon blossom, with a hint of campfire smoke completing the aromas.

The name The Infinita brought a new presentation to Glenmorangie's core-range 18-year-old whisky without changing the whisky itself. This official bottling is offered at 43% in a bottle containing 0.7 litres. It comes in a blue gift box with copper-coloured accents.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, spicy, caramelised citrus notes combine with honey and layered floral aromas of jasmine, narcissus and honeysuckle. Raisins and nuts give way to crème brûlée and creamy vanilla. Orange and lime are followed by walnut, honey and sun-ripened dates, while green geranium notes complement the floral character.
• Palate: The palate is silky, slightly oily, full and rounded. Grapefruit and orange appear first, followed by honey, creamy malt and floral notes. These develop into warm, syrupy hazelnut and walnut notes shaped by the Oloroso maturation. Dates and figs join them, accompanied by spices and a delicate hint of wood smoke.
• Finish: The long finish combines the sweetness of dried fruit with dry Oloroso sherry notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glenmorangie was founded in 1843 in Tain in the Scottish Highlands. The distillery uses Scotland's tallest stills, whose long copper necks reach 5.14 metres and allow particularly light vapours to rise to the top. This design favours the delicate, fruit-led new-make spirit that shapes the house style.

Glenmorangie's approach also includes carefully selecting maturation casks, each of which it uses only twice to mature whisky. Since the introduction of Glenmorangie 1963 in 1987, additional maturation in other cask types has been part of the distillery's approach to whisky development. As Director of Whisky Creation, Dr Bill Lumsden leads that development and is also responsible for the composition of The Infinita.
