Special Features:

For the 2023 release, whisky maker Bob Dalgarno selected a single European oak sherry butt. Matured for 35 years, the single malt brings together dried fruit, oak and spice with tropical fruit and vanilla. This distillery bottling is limited to 185 bottles, has an alcohol content of 42.8%, and is neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in a premium box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, pineapple, apricot and peach meet cinnamon, cedarwood and sandalwood. Raisins and crystallised ginger add to the aromas, with subtle notes of vanilla and menthol.
• Palate: The palate opens sweetly with caramel and light sugar syrup. Mango, pineapple, peach and apricot accompany a note of baked custard tart and green apple. Cinnamon and gingerbread then emerge, alongside hints of old furniture wood and a dusty cigar box.
• Finish: The long finish initially retains the tropical fruit notes. As they fade, old oak and warming spices come to the fore.

Distillery/Bottler:

The history of The Glenturret Distillery can be traced back to 1763, when a lease referred to the distillery by its early name, Thurot. Its site near Crieff is known as “The Hosh”. Distillation there still takes place in small batches, at an unusually slow pace, in hand-hammered copper stills. This single malt is a bottling from The Glenturret itself; Bob Dalgarno selected the cask for the 2023 release.
