For the third release in its limited Islanders' Expressions Collection, Jura collaborated with Konrad Borkowski, a photographer who lives on the island. His perspective on Jura’s landscape and people gives the edition its artistic connection. The single malt first matured in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak, then received a finish in French Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks. This 2024 distillery bottling contains 1 litre of whisky at 40% ABV and comes in a tube.

Forest berries and apricot shape the whisky’s fruity character. Geranium, raspberry leaf and ginger pastries add floral, green and spicy accents; mandarin, vanilla pod and salted caramel join them on the palate.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose opens with forest berries and apricot, followed by geranium and raspberry leaf over a note of freshly baked ginger pastries.
• Palate: On the palate, mandarin and apricot meet vanilla pod and salted caramel.
• Finish: A salty note lingers on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Jura Distillery stands in Craighouse on Scotland’s Isle of Jura. Founded in 1810, it was rebuilt after a long closure and reopened in 1963. It has belonged to Whyte & Mackay since 1994. Its water comes from Market Loch; during distillation, the unusually tall, wide stills increase contact between the alcohol vapour and copper, helping to create a fruity, aromatic base character. Jura makes the single malt for this edition and releases it as an official distillery bottling.
