Special Features:

Jura Rum Cask Finish matures first in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a second phase in selected Caribbean rum casks. It belongs to the Cask Edition range, which brings different previous cask contents together with the island whisky. The rum cask finish shapes its tropical, fruity and creamy character.

The whisky has a golden amber colour and is bottled at 40% alcohol. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes in a cylindrical gift tin. Tropical plant motifs on the bottle and tin reflect the casks’ previous use for Caribbean rum.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, guava and coconut meet sugared almonds and apricots. A hint of citrus complements the fruit aromas.
• Palate: The whisky feels full and creamy on the palate. Sweet vanilla and fudge combine with fruity notes of mango, banana and guava.
• Finish: Sweet cinnamon spice lingers on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Jura distillery stands in Craighouse on the Scottish island of the same name. Archibald Campbell founded it in 1810 as Small Isles distillery. Following its closure in 1901, it remained silent for more than six decades. Work to renovate and extend the buildings began in 1960, and the distillery resumed production in 1963.

Water for production comes from Market Loch. Rain and meltwater pass through the island’s rock to reach the loch, then flow along natural watercourses to the distillery. Jura uses exceptionally tall, broad-shaped stills. Their design increases copper contact during distillation and supports the spirit’s fruity, aromatic character. Cask selection focuses on bringing out these qualities.
