Special Features:

This Longmorn matured for more than half a century in a First Fill Sherry Butt. Distilled on 1 February 1966, the single malt remained in cask number 609 until 15 November 2021. Gordon & MacPhail bottled the 55-year-old whisky for the Private Collection, with an outturn of 319 bottles.

The long maturation in a sherry cask finds expression in an interplay of berry fruit, dark chocolate and oak. Beeswax and lavender add distinctive accents, while the finish is creamy and spicy.

The whisky was bottled at its natural cask strength of 41.6%. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes in a hinged wooden presentation box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Rich sherry notes emerge first, then give way to subtler impressions of beeswax polish and cigar box. Ripe blackcurrants subsequently mingle with lavender and oak.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet red berry compote complements dark chocolate. Dark woodland berries emerge, accompanied by a delicate note of clove.
• Finish: The long finish is creamy. Raspberry and autumnal spices linger.

Longmorn is situated in Scotland's Speyside region. Its rich, distinctly fruity spirit is valued as a single malt and also used in blended Scotch. Gordon & MacPhail has a long-standing relationship with the distillery and also features Longmorn in its Distillery Labels range.

Gordon & MacPhail combines spirit selection with its own cask strategy: over four generations, the family business worked with more than 100 Scottish distilleries and commissioned casks made to its own specifications. For the Private Collection, members of the owning Urquhart family select exceptionally long-matured single malts from well-known, lesser-known and closed distilleries.
