Special Features:

This Macallan was distilled on 24 September 1997 and matured for 25 years in First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt 12/3. Signatory Vintage bottled the whisky on 10 July 2023 for Symington's Choice as part of the Cask Strength Collection, at its cask strength of 54.8%. The edition comprises 649 individually numbered bottles and comes in a metal presentation tin.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Raisins, candied citrus fruit and toffee shape the nose. Subtle hints of chocolate-covered dates and polished mahogany complement these aromas.
• Palate: On the palate, dark fruit compote, molasses and warm baking spices combine with a silky texture. A delicate clove note adds to the flavour.
• Finish: Sherry-influenced oak and gently spiced cocoa linger on the long finish. Sweet tobacco adds a subtle lingering nuance.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Macallan produced this Speyside single malt. Alexander Reid founded the distillery beside Easter Elchies House in 1824. Small copper stills and maturation in oak casks previously seasoned with sherry are characteristic foundations of its production approach.

Signatory Vintage is responsible for this independent bottling. Andrew Symington founded the company with his brother in 1988. Following its acquisition of Edradour in 2002, Signatory completed the relocation of its operations to Pitlochry by 2007. Its selection of individual casks places their distinctive colours, aromas and flavours at the heart of its bottlings.
