Na Braiche is Macaloney's unpeated, non-smoky expression shaped by red wine casks, with 0 PPM. This Canadian Single Malt matures in Portuguese red wine barriques. Its fruity character brings together red berries, tropical fruit, toffee and toasted oak. The creamy texture and juicy malt support both the lighter honey and citrus notes and the darker impressions of fruitcake and chocolate. The whisky is bottled at 46%, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe red berries and tropical fruit meet toffee, toasted oak and woody spice.
• Palate: The whisky feels soft and creamy on the palate. Tropical fruit, fruitcake, honey, citrus and dark chocolate combine with juicy malt and a hint of sea salt, while spice becomes increasingly prominent.
• Finish: Oak and spice define the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Macaloney's makes its single malts in Saanich, near Victoria on Vancouver Island. Canadian barley and island water provide the foundation, with distillation taking place in hand-hammered copper stills from Forsyth's. Founder Graeme Macaloney continues to work at the stills and develop new cask combinations. The distillery's cask selection includes bourbon casks from Kentucky, Spanish Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and Portuguese red wine barriques. Na Braiche draws on the red wine influence within this range.
