Special Features:

This Macduff matured in a single Sherry Butt and was selected as an exclusive bottling for Germany. The whisky was distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2022 by Berry Bros. & Rudd from cask 900028. The release comprises 183 bottles, each containing 0.7 litres. It was bottled at 54.6% without chill filtration. Its colour comes entirely from cask maturation; no colouring was added.

This non-smoky single malt combines floral notes and creamy sweetness with stone fruit and an oily texture. Banana and cinnamon bring a fruity, spicy accent to the finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Vanilla cream and butterscotch lend the nose a creamy sweetness. Delicate floral notes reminiscent of rose water and buttercups also emerge.
• Palate: On the palate, an oily mouthfeel combines with apricot jam, juicy peach and honey.
• Finish: The complex finish reveals notes of banana and cinnamon.

Distillery/Bottler:

Macduff Distillery stands on the outskirts of Banff, above the River Deveron. Four Scottish entrepreneurs founded it in 1960 with a gravity-based production concept. Shell-and-tube condensers cool the vapour produced during distillation back into liquid. This technical approach was intended to reduce costs and environmental impact. The distillery’s official single malts are sold under the name The Deveron.

Founded in 1698, Berry Bros. & Rudd is a family-run wine and spirits merchant headquartered on St James’s Street in London. Long-standing relationships with producers are part of the company’s work. For this Macduff, Berry Bros. & Rudd acts as the independent bottler; the whisky comes from Macduff Distillery.
