Micil Connemara Irish Cream Liqueur 0.7 l

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 17%

Special Features:

Connemara Poitín gives this Irish cream liqueur its distinctive regional character. Micil combines it with Irish Whiskey and Irish cream, following their grandmother’s original recipe. The idea draws on Connemara’s tradition of making drinks with cream, honey and a dash of Poitín.

The Micil Irish Poitín used in the liqueur is made exclusively with malted Irish barley and spicy bogbean from Connemara. In the liqueur, creamy chocolate sweetness, coffee and honey meet the gentle, fruity spice of the Poitín. The recipe contains only natural flavourings. In 2022, the liqueur won Best Irish Cream at the World Liqueur Awards.

The liqueur has an alcohol content of 17% and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle. It is best enjoyed chilled. Once opened, the bottle should be refrigerated and its contents consumed within six months.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Sweet chocolate greets the nose.
• Palate: The liqueur is creamy on the palate, with sweet chocolate complemented by a little coffee and honey.
• Finish: The gentle, fruity spice of the Poitín brings balance to the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Micil Distillery is located in Salthill on Galway Bay and opened in 2016 as Galway’s first legal distillery in over a century. Its name honours Micil Mac Chearra, who began distilling Poitín on a hillside in Connemara in 1848. The family has passed this knowledge down through six generations and today combines it with family recipes and local botanicals.
