It was bottled in Pitlochry on 31 July 2018 under the supervision of Andrew W. Symington. The worldwide release comprises 537 bottles.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: The nose opens with medicinal balm, herbs and plums. With air, spice and pronounced malty notes emerge.
  • Palate: The lively opening combines rich sage notes with heady honeysuckle. Saffron spice and earthy impressions develop towards the mid-palate.
  • Finish: Candied apricots meet pineapple on the distinctive finish. Exhaling through the nose reveals aromas reminiscent of smoked salmon and pipe tobacco.

Distillery/Bottler:

North Port stood in Brechin in the eastern Highlands. The Guthrie brothers founded the distillery in 1820 under the name Townhead. Distillers Company Limited took over the business in 1922. The distillery closed in 1983 and was completely dismantled in 1994, so this whisky dates from its final years of operation.

Signatory Vintage is the independent bottler of this whisky. Andrew Symington founded the company with his brother in 1988. His involvement with individual casks began while he was working at the Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh. After purchasing Edradour distillery in 2002, Signatory gradually transferred its entire operation to the Pitlochry site, completing the move in 2007.
