Ron Larimar PX Cask Finish combines maturation in American oak with a finishing period in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Selected first-fill sherry butts from Andalusia are used for this stage. The rum matures for at least five years, with the finish adding fruity and sweet accents.

The rum is made from molasses in the Dominican Republic and taken to Scotland for finishing. It is bottled at 40% alcohol in 0.7-litre bottles. Its flavour combines dark fruit notes with sweet and spicy impressions.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines rich dried fruit aromas with pineapple jam, toffee with dark sugar syrup, and cocoa powder.
• Palate: The palate shows pronounced sweetness with dates, figs and prunes. Salted caramel, chocolate-covered raisins and spice reminiscent of a cigar box add further depth.
• Finish: The long finish remains fruity. Spicy toasted oak notes leave a tingling sensation on the tongue.

Ron Larimar is part of the brand portfolio of Angus Dundee Distillers plc. Its concept combines rum from the Dominican Republic with cask maturation in Scotland's cooler climate and the expertise of Scottish whisky specialists. The inspiration came from historical sea voyages, during which Caribbean rum continued to mature and develop in flavour on its journey to Europe.

The brand takes its name from the rare blue larimar stone, found exclusively in the Dominican Republic. The range comprises four cask variants: Bourbon, Peated Single Malt, Oloroso Sherry and Pedro Ximénez Sherry. These different finishes are central to the range.
