Special Features:

SLYRS Single Malt Classic matures in new American white oak casks. Vanilla, caramel and malt shape its character, alongside spicy notes. The Classic combines whiskies matured for three to six years and carries no age statement. The miniature contains 0.05 litres at 43%, offering a small tasting size of the regular Classic.

Apricot and orange peel give the profile its fruity side. Ginger and cinnamon add spice, while marzipan and walnut provide nutty accents. A subtle smoky note accompanies the mild, malty character; caramel, vanilla and woody notes complete the picture.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals an intense, layered interplay of apricot and orange peel, complemented by fresh ginger and caramel.
• Palate: On the palate, an elegant structure combines with pronounced sweetness and notes of marzipan and walnut.
• Finish: The whisky leaves a long, intense finish shaped by spicy cinnamon notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

SLYRS began with its first distillation in 1999, and the first bottles reached the market in 2002. Florian Stetter founded SLYRS KG in 2004, followed by its own distillery in Neuhaus am Schliersee in 2007. His idea for a Bavarian single malt originated during a trip to Scotland. Hans Kemenater took charge of production in 2007 and became managing director in 2017.

The distillery uses two-row spring barley from the Munich area and water from the Bannwaldquelle spring in the Schliersee Alps. Fermentation takes several days and uses the distillery's own whisky yeasts. Slow distillation in copper pot stills follows. Double distillation and generous cuts to remove the heads and tails are key production choices. The new American white oak casks come from World Cooperage in Missouri.
