Slyrs Single Malt / Marsala Cask Finish
Special features: This Slyrs Single Malt Whisky gains a special depth and complexity from the aging in Marsala wine casks from Sicily. After a three-year maturation in American white oak barrels, the whisky is transferred to Marsala casks, where it absorbs the fruity aromas of Marsala wine and harmonizes with the malty notes of Slyrs whisky.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromatic fruity notes of strawberries and red currants, accompanied by a slight sweetness.
- Palate: Taste of cooked fruits, similar to a jam, with a strong and warming nutmeg note.
- Finish: Pleasantly long with a distinctly present Slyrs note.
Distillery/Bottler: The Slyrs Distillery was founded in 1999 by Florian Stetter in Schliersee, Bavaria. It is known for producing single malt whiskies from the finest Bavarian barley and uses the pot still method in copper stills. The maturation takes place in barrels made of American white oak, with special finishes also using barrels from other regions, such as Marsala casks from Sicily.
