Special Features:

The third Distillers Choice from SLYRS combines maturation in new American white oak with a Moscatel sherry finish. Distilled in 2018, the single malt spent a further 18 months in casks that had previously held Moscatel sherry after its initial maturation. Cask Manager Andreas Flossmann was responsible for this edition. The release comprises 910 bottles at 49.4%.

The Moscatel sherry influence adds a fruity, spicy character to the whisky. Apricot, floral notes and sweet dried fruit combine with vanilla and oak. The whisky retains its natural colour and is not chill-filtered.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers a pleasant sweetness with honey and ripe apricots. Floral notes and a subtle touch of vanilla complement the aroma.
• Palate: On the palate, raisins and dried figs combine with refreshing citrus notes and well-integrated oak.
• Finish: The long finish is soft and gently warming. Sweet fruit flavours accompany subtle oak and a hint of vanilla.

Distillery/Bottler:

SLYRS Destillerie GmbH & Co. KG produces the whisky at Schliersee and is responsible for this official bottling under its own brand.

Florian Stetter provided the impetus for founding the distillery: a trip to Scotland in 1994 gave him the idea of producing single malt in Upper Bavaria. The first SLYRS whisky was distilled in 1999. Since the distillery was built in 2007, its home has been Neuhaus am Schliersee. With its first PX and Oloroso finishes in 2010, SLYRS expanded its range to include additional sherry cask influences.
