Special Features:

To mark its 30th anniversary, Signatory Vintage selected this long-matured Teaninich from a single Refill Sherry Butt. The Highland Single Malt was distilled on 7 December 1983 and matured for 35 years in cask 8070 before being bottled on 12 December 2018. The release comprises 575 bottles.

The whisky was bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.5%, without chill filtration or added colouring. The set includes one 0.7-litre bottle and two Glencairn glasses decorated with Signatory Vintage branding, presented in a black lacquered wooden box.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, malt and menthol mingle with a very delicate smoky note. With a little air, juicy pears, vanilla and fresh, aromatic vegetal notes unfold.
• Palate: The whisky is powerful and fruity on the palate. Peaty and salty impressions accompany a delicate hint of spice.
• Finish: The finish is rich and malty. The peat smoke fades as the fruit notes take on an exotic character.

Distillery/Bottler:

Teaninich is located near Alness on the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands. Captain Hugh Munro founded the distillery in 1817. To meet growing demand, a modern distillery was built alongside the existing facility in 1970, doubling its capacity. Its current production methods include using a filter press to filter the mash. Much of Teaninich's whisky goes into Blended Scotch, making standalone Single Malt releases less common.

Signatory Vintage is responsible for selecting and bottling this edition. Andrew and Brian Symington founded the independent bottling company in 1988. From its early years, it focused on cask-strength whiskies without chill filtration, including older releases from Glen Grant, Laphroaig and Ardbeg. Signatory Vintage is based in Pitlochry and later also became the owner of Edradour distillery.
