For Finnish Whisky Day 2024, Teerenpeli bottled this eight-year-old single malt from Moscatel wine cask #30032016J. The whisky spent all eight years in this one cask; it was not given a Moscatel finish afterwards. This distillery bottling is limited to 360 bottles of 0.5 litres each and has an alcohol content of 54.9%. It is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

The Moscatel cask thus shaped the whisky throughout its maturation. Honey and flowers emerge on the nose, while yellow fruit and gentle raisin notes come to the fore on the palate. The bottle comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers honey and flowers, accompanied by grapes and a hint of vanilla.
• Palate: Yellow fruit meets gentle raisin notes on the palate, alongside ripe fruit and mild spice.
• Finish: The long finish remains fresh and fruity, with delicate sweetness and subtle wood notes lingering.

Distillery/Bottler:

Teerenpeli began as a family business in Lahti in 1994. After opening its own brewery, the company brought a distillery into operation in 2002. Teerenpeli uses malted barley and local groundwater for this single malt and distils in traditional copper pot stills.

The Lotila distillery is now Teerenpeli’s main whisky production site. Its older Taivaanranta distillery is still used for small special batches. Teerenpeli generates heat for its brewery and distillery in its own facility, using wood pellets made from sawdust.
