Special Features:

Track 4: One Way or Another is a Blended Scotch from the limited Turntable series for 2024, combining maturation in bourbon and wine casks. The recipe is fully disclosed: 30% Strathclyde grain whisky from First Fill Bourbon Barrels, 21% Invergordon grain whisky from red wine barrels, 15% Cameronbridge grain whisky from Marsala barrels and a further 12% from Madeira barrels, plus 22% Linkwood single malt from First Fill Bourbon Barrels. Grain whisky therefore accounts for 78% and malt whisky for 22%. Around 2,000 bottles were released at 46%, without added colouring or chill filtration.

Salted caramel, fresh citrus fruit, walnut and warm banana define the core character. The individual components bring different accents: Strathclyde contributes sugar sweets, Invergordon warm banana bread, Cameronbridge from Marsala barrels grated orange peel, and Cameronbridge from Madeira barrels salted caramel popcorn. Linkwood adds freshly cut grass. The disclosed composition makes it possible to understand which whiskies and cask maturations contribute to these impressions.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: On the nose, salted caramel and fresh citrus fruit appear first, before warm banana bread with walnut notes comes forward. Delicate vanilla and spices complement the aroma.
  • Palate: On the palate, ripe banana and salted caramel popcorn combine with red berries and golden kiwi. Freshly cut grass, walnuts and a pinch of cinnamon round out the flavour.
  • Finish: Waxed orange zest and sweet fruit candies remain present in the long finish. Fresh citrus notes and subtle oak spice accompany the lingering flavours.

Distillery/Bottler:

Brothers Alasdair and Gordon Stevenson are behind the Turntable Blending House in Glasgow. Together, they brought more than twenty years of experience in the whisky industry to their own project. Turntable works in small batches, combining selected whiskies from different casks to create Blended Scotch. For Track 4, the house developed the recipe, married the selected whiskies and bottled the blend under its own brand. Strathclyde, Invergordon and Cameronbridge supplied the grain components, while Linkwood supplied the single malt.
