An unpeated expression from the core range, Wolfburn Aurora Sherry Oak combines whisky matured in bourbon casks with whisky matured in Oloroso sherry casks. After maturation, the whiskies or cask contents are married together. This single malt carries no age statement.

Long fermentation and slow, careful double distillation shape its production. The whisky then matures on site in Wolfburn’s warehouses. It is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose initially reveals sherry-led sweetness, followed by freshly cut grass and autumn fruits. Coffee and dark chocolate add subtle accents.
• Palate: Floral tones emerge on the palate alongside spices and vanilla. Fruity sweetness envelops the palate, while fruit and nut notes lead into the finish.
• Finish: The finish is warm and smooth, fading gently while lingering, with the sherry notes remaining until the end.

Distillery/Bottler:

The independent Wolfburn Distillery is located in Thurso, in the Scottish county of Caithness, and continues the legacy of the historic distillery founded there in 1821. It is one of the northernmost distilleries on the Scottish mainland. Distillation, maturation and bottling all take place in Thurso.

Wolfburn uses water from the nearby Wolf Burn, which is naturally filtered through the rocks of Caithness. The casks are stored in the distillery’s own warehouses near the sea.
