Special Features:

This 13-year-old single-cask release matured in refill bourbon hogshead 800733. The whisky was distilled on 25 January 2007 and bottled at cask strength by the Artful Dodger Whisky Collective on 28 February 2020 at 59.5%; the cask yielded 350 bottles of 0.5 litres each. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.

Pastry-like malt and nuts form the sensory foundation. Honey, candied ginger and fresh pineapple add sweet, spicy and fruity accents, while coffee and cappuccino complete the profile.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals pastry-like cereals and nutty accents, accompanied by a subtle sweetness reminiscent of milky coffee.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied and velvety on the palate. Honey-roasted pecans and Brazil nuts combine with candied ginger and fresh pineapple, while cappuccino rounds out the flavour profile.
• Finish: The finish is smooth and long-lasting, with the pastry-like and nutty aromas fading elegantly.

Distillery/Bottler:

Auchroisk was built at Mulben in 1972 to produce the malt component for J&B blends; the Speyside distillery began production in 1974. Its whisky first appeared as a single malt under the name The Singleton in 1986. Rapid mashing and fermentation, together with an intensive boiling regime in the stills, shape a robust new make spirit whose initially lightly scorched notes give way during maturation to a balanced, honeyed cereal sweetness.

Sebastian Woolf founded the Artful Dodger Whisky Collective in Brighton in 2018 as part of Woolf Drinks. The independent bottler focuses on individual casks and also released this Auchroisk as a single-cask bottling.
