Canerock Spiced Rum (Jamaica)
Special features: The Canerock Spiced Rum comes from Jamaica and is bottled by the renowned Maison Ferrand. It is based on a pot still rum, traditionally made from sugarcane molasses. After distillation, the rum matures in oak barrels, some for up to three years, while a portion of the rum receives a finish in PX sherry casks. This bottling combines natural spice aroma with the typical sweetness of Jamaican rums.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose shows hints of pastry, vanilla, coffee beans, and dark chocolate, complemented by coconut notes.
- Palate: On the palate, caramel notes and light spice unfold, accompanied by hints of raisins, allspice, and oak tannins. Additionally, notes of licorice and anise are noticeable.
- Finish: The finish is spicy, sweet, and fresh, with nuances of poppy seed cake, dark cherries, and plums. Mint, ginger, and cloves follow.
