Juniper and coriander take centre stage in Old Man Gin Project Four. Its deliberately restrained selection of botanicals follows a classic, dry style of gin. Neutral grain spirit forms the base. The gin is bottled at 42% in a 0.5-litre bottle.

Its woodland character encompasses earthy juniper notes, pine, resin and hints of damp leaves. Coriander, fresh citrus notes with a delicate bitter edge and subtle spice nuances complement this profile. For a gin and tonic, the bottle label recommends Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic at a ratio of one part gin to three parts tonic.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Bold juniper aromas emerge on the nose, accompanied by pine, resin and spicy coriander.
• Palate: The gin is bold and spicy on the palate, yet retains a soft texture. Bitterness and alcohol heat are barely perceptible.
• Finish: The finish leaves an oily impression with a light fruity note.

Distillery/Bottler:

Oldman Spirits, based in Schleswig-Holstein, is the company behind this bottling. It develops its own spirits, creates rum blends and releases single-cask bottlings. Its brands include Spirits of Old Man, Flensburg Rum Company and Captain Cane.

Until 2019, the team carried out all bottling, labelling and packaging by hand. In the years that followed, Oldman Spirits established a cask warehouse at its Jübek site and brought semi-automatic and fully automatic bottling lines into operation. Alongside its own brands, the company also handles projects for other businesses, from product development and design through to bottling.
