Cherries and currants take centre stage in Project Three. Their gentle fruit notes and tart accents define this New Western Dry Gin, with juniper providing a restrained accompaniment rather than dominating the aroma. The gin comes from Germany and is bottled at 42% in a 0.5-litre bottle.

Its fruity character also comes through in a gin and tonic. Mediterranean Tonic makes a suitable pairing; a suggested ratio is one part gin to three parts tonic.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers gentle fruit notes of cherries and currants.
• Palate: On the palate, cherry and currant combine with a tart note. Juniper stays discreetly in the background.
• Finish: The finish is rounded and gentle, with lingering fruit notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Oldman Spirits has its roots in Schleswig-Holstein and was founded in 2014. The initial inspiration came in 2013 with the idea of developing a rum of its own. Managing director Thomas Altmann subsequently began creating his own blends using rums from different origins in the Caribbean and neighbouring regions.

Alongside its rum bottlings, the company developed the Gin Project range, with each expression focusing on different flavours. While Project Two combines apple and cucumber, Project Three centres on cherry and currant. Project Three is bottled by Oldman Spirits GmbH.
