For Leisure Harbour, Oldman Spirits combines Caribbean rums with rhum agricole from La Réunion in the Indian Ocean. The blend brings together the rich aromatics of pot still rum and a lighter foundation of column still distillates. Alongside the agricole component, bourbon cask maturation is one of the defining influences on this fifth Rum Project creation.

Banana and vanilla lead the aromatic profile. Coconut, caramel, citrus fruit and roasted notes complement its fruitiness without overshadowing its gentle character. The blend is bottled at 40% alcohol in a 0.7-litre bottle. It can be enjoyed neat at room temperature or over ice.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is fresh, fruity and soft. Vanilla accompanies ripe banana, with a hint of toasted coconut flakes.
• Palate: The palate is distinctly fruity without becoming overloaded. Vanilla, banana and caramel combine with citrus fruit and roasted notes. A little spice and a delicate coconut note complement the gentle impression.
• Finish: The long finish remains supple and slightly sweet. Vanilla and oak linger with delicate toasted notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 2014, Oldman Spirits is based in Schleswig-Holstein. The company develops rum blends and also releases single cask bottlings. The Rum Projects belong to the Spirits of Old Man brand, with each recipe highlighting a different flavour profile. Project One started the series, followed by creations including the orange-led second project and the vanilla-led fourth.

Until 2019, the team carried out all bottling, labelling and packaging entirely by hand. In the following years, Oldman Spirits established a cask warehouse in Jübek and introduced semi-automatic and fully automatic bottling equipment. Alongside its own brands, the company also develops and bottles spirits for other clients.
