Special Features:

Project Two – Spiced Orange brings Caribbean rum together with fruity spice. Its base combines pot-still and column-still distillates, produced by batch and continuous distillation respectively. The blend includes Agricole Rhum from Martinique. Tropical maturation and ageing in a sweet-wine cask complete its production.

The blend is refined with natural ingredients, without artificial flavourings. No additional sugar is added after blending. Alongside the defining orange, mango and papaya contribute to its tropical fruit character. This is the second creation in the Rum Project range and is bottled at 40% alcohol in a 0.7-litre bottle. It contains colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Candied oranges meet delicate vanilla and a pinch of black pepper on the nose.
• Palate: The opening is bittersweet, warm and creamy. A generous wave of orange-led fruit follows, with apricot and papaya, then a subtle spicy undertone. Vanilla rounds out the palate, while raisins, chocolate, pepper and a delicate grape note accompany the fruit in the background.
• Finish: The lingering finish is warming, creamy, soft and mild. Orange remains present, with sweet notes and a hint of ginger joining spicy pepper.

Distillery/Bottler:

Oldman Spirits is an independent bottler based in Schleswig-Holstein. The idea of creating their own rum emerged among friends in 2013, and the company was founded in 2014. Thomas Altmann began developing his own blends using Caribbean rums and distillates from neighbouring regions. This work gave rise to the Rum Project series, with its different flavour profiles.

Working with regional partners is part of the company's approach. Schleswiger Werkstätten, for example, was already supporting its production in 2019. Alongside rum blends, Oldman Spirits also develops gin and single-cask bottlings.
