Special Features:

The Danish single malt was distilled in August 2020 and matured entirely for five years in single cask #2544, made from new American oak. Stauning bottled the whisky in September 2025 at its natural cask strength of 61%; it was neither coloured nor chill-filtered.

The bottling is part of The Awakening Series 2025, created for the inaugural Whisky Live in Hamburg. Its character combines smoke and delicate peat with vanilla sweetness, spicy oak, malt and bright fruit.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The whisky is sweet and creamy on the nose: vanilla, honey and butterscotch sit alongside grain, fresh malt and ripe apple, while oak spice rounds out the impression.
• Palate: On the palate, it combines power and balance with a creamy texture. Vanilla custard, toffee and sweet malt are accompanied by cinnamon, toasted nuts and bright fruit.
• Finish: The long, warming finish leaves lingering notes of vanilla, honey and malt sugar, accompanied by a gentle touch of wood.

Distillery/Bottler:

Stauning Whisky was founded in 2005 in the village of Stauning in western Jutland as a project by nine friends. The distillery uses locally grown barley and rye, malts the grain on open malting floors and distils in small, direct-fired stills.

Stauning made the whisky from cask #2544 entirely in Denmark. It matured there and was bottled there by the distillery as an official bottling.
