Bittersweet Seville oranges give this Tanqueray expression its distinctive character. Orange blossom complements the citrus fruit, while the classic base of juniper, coriander, angelica and liquorice remains. The gin thus combines fruity sweetness with bitter and spicy notes.

Flor de Sevilla was launched in 2018 and draws on an orange recipe created by Charles Tanqueray in 1862. This bottling has an alcohol content of 41.3% and is offered here in a bottle containing 0.7 litres. For a gin and tonic, ice and an orange wedge complement its bittersweet profile.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe orange and orange peel shape the aroma. Juniper and coriander emerge behind them, while orange blossom adds a floral note.
• Palate: On the palate, the gin opens with gentle orange sweetness. Slightly bitter peel notes and the peppery spice of coriander follow immediately.
• Finish: Bitter orange and a little juniper linger on the finish. It feels drier than the initial sweetness would suggest.

Distillery/Bottler:

Charles Tanqueray began distilling in London's Bloomsbury district in 1830. Today, Tanqueray is produced at Cameronbridge Distillery in Fife, Scotland. The site draws water from wells along the River Leven and treats it before use. In 2008, Diageo also invested there in a bioenergy and water treatment facility that uses distillation by-products to supply energy.
