Special Features:

French and American oak casks shape Reserva 1800 Añejo. It is made exclusively from blue Weber agave and distilled twice in copper pot stills. The tequila then matures in oak for over a year. The bottle contains 0.7 litres at 38% alcohol.

This amber-coloured tequila has a full-bodied character with distinct oak and spice notes. Vanilla and butterscotch complement its caramel and nutty impressions, contrasting with a dry, peppery finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals toasted coconut, toffee-coated apple and cigar-box aromas. Spicy wood notes and perfumed hints round out the bouquet. There are also aromas of toasted oak and vanilla. Cinnamon and cloves mingle with caramel and chocolate notes.
• Palate: On the palate, wood and spice combine with abundant dried fruit and nut notes. Caramel, chocolate and roasted agave add further flavours.
• Finish: The finish is dry and woody, with lingering spiced toffee and black pepper.

Distillery/Bottler:

1800 is produced in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Its blue Weber agave comes from its own fields and selected additional growers. The plants grow for six to eight years before harvesting, when workers remove the pointed leaves to expose the agave hearts.

The agave hearts are steam-cooked in masonry ovens for 36 to 40 hours. Four successive roller stages then extract the sugary juice from the fibres. Fermentation takes place with a proprietary yeast culture in closed stainless steel tanks for 40 to 50 hours. This is followed by double distillation in copper pot stills.
