Special Features:

Don Julio Reposado combines agave with maturation in former bourbon casks made from American white oak. The tequila is made from 100% blue Weber agave and spends at least eight months in cask. During maturation, it develops its golden amber colour and a smooth character with chocolate and spice notes.

This official bottling contains 0.7 litres at 38% alcohol and comes without gift packaging. The reposado can be enjoyed over ice or used in cocktails such as a Margarita or a Paloma.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals gentle lemon notes, spices and ripe stone fruit. Cooked agave, honey, vanilla and ripe banana round out the aromas.
• Palate: The tequila feels exceptionally smooth on the palate. Delicate dark chocolate and vanilla mingle with light cinnamon, oak and warm spice notes.
• Finish: The finish feels silky and warm. Dried fruit and nuts linger, accompanied by a hint of caramelised apple.

Distillery/Bottler:

Don Julio González founded La Primavera distillery in the highlands of Jalisco in 1942. The agaves grow there in clay-rich soils, with warm days and cool nights. The jimadores, who harvest the agaves, assess each plant individually for ripeness and health rather than harvesting an entire field at once. Several generations of jimador families have worked for Don Julio since 1947.

Don Julio uses fully mature agaves, which are slowly cooked in masonry ovens. Fermentation uses a yeast strain developed by Don Julio González. The spirit is then distilled twice in copper pot stills.
