Codigo Tequila Blanco

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 38% | Chill filtration: Yes | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Código 1530 Blanco is produced without cask ageing. It is made from fully mature blue Weber agaves grown in the Mexican lowlands, preserving the agave character without adding woody notes. The tequila is bottled at its place of origin, with no added sweeteners, flavourings or colourings.

Bottled at 38% alcohol in a 0.7-litre bottle, this tequila combines herbal flavours with earthy and mineral notes. It is suitable both for drinking neat and for mixed drinks that allow its agave character to shine.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose brings together mint, grass and floral aromas.
• Palate: The tequila has a herbal character on the palate. Earthy and mineral notes are balanced by sweet citrus flavours.
• Finish: Black pepper and citrus notes linger on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Código 1530 has its roots in Amatitán in the Mexican state of Jalisco. The brand draws on a tequila whose recipe was passed down through generations within a small circle of families and agave growers. Its name recalls the regional customs known as Los Códigos. The year 1530 refers to Jalisco’s coat of arms and its Jerusalem cross, which also adorns the bottles.

The agaves are harvested by hand once they reach the appropriate sugar content. Production uses stainless steel ovens and local yeast, after which the tequila is distilled twice in small batches in handcrafted stills. The water comes from Amatitán and has been filtered through volcanic rock.
