Special Features:

Código 1530 Rosa gains its distinctive character from a brief rest in former wine casks. Its base is the Blanco, which spends one month in uncharred French white oak casks. These previously held Cabernet wine from California’s Napa Valley. Contact with the wine-influenced wood gives the tequila its pale pink colour and adds subtle fruity and floral nuances to the agave.

Made from 100% blue Weber agave, Rosa remains distinctly agave-led despite the wine cask influence. Its brief cask rest sets it apart from a longer-aged Reposado. It is bottled at 35% alcohol in a 0.7-litre bottle. No colouring is added. Rosa can be enjoyed neat, over ice or in cocktails such as a Paloma.

• Nose: On the nose, agave and floral notes mingle with a delicate berry note and a subtle wine cask influence.
• Palate: The natural sweetness of agave takes centre stage on the palate. The Cabernet cask influence adds a subtle complement, while the oak remains restrained.
• Finish: The finish is clean and floral, with gentle warmth and delicate Cabernet notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Código 1530 comes from Amatitán in the Mexican state of Jalisco. The brand draws on a tequila originally made by a local distilling family for a private circle. Its name refers to the traditional rules and customs of Los Bajos, known as Los Códigos.

The agaves are harvested by hand after several years of growth. Production includes cooking in stainless steel ovens, fermentation with regional yeast and double distillation in small batches. Water from Amatitán, filtered through volcanic rock, is used. Alongside this agave-focused approach, the selection of former Cabernet wine casks from the Napa Valley shapes the style of the cask-aged tequilas.
