Don Julio Rosado combines reposado tequila with the influence of ruby port casks from the Douro wine region in northern Portugal. It spends four months in these casks, acquiring its delicate pink colour during maturation. It is made exclusively from blue Weber agave.

Bottled at 40% alcohol, this tequila can be enjoyed over ice. For a lighter drink, serve it with a little soda water and a lemon garnish.

• Palate: Dried red fruits combine with caramel on the palate.
• Finish: The finish is light, sweet and smooth.

Distillery/Bottler:

Don Julio González founded the La Primavera distillery in the highlands of Jalisco in 1942. Warm days, cool nights and clay-rich soils shape agave cultivation there. The jimadores, field workers who specialise in harvesting agave, select each plant individually according to its maturity and health rather than harvesting entire fields at once. Families of jimadores have worked with Don Julio across several generations since 1947.

Don Julio's production methods include slowly cooking fully mature agaves in masonry ovens, fermenting with a yeast strain developed by Don Julio González and distilling twice in copper pot stills. These steps form the basis of the tequilas, while the subsequent cask maturation varies between bottlings.
